The McLeanCVA Village Salon
The McLean Community Village for All Ages (McLeanCVA) is starting a new group with its focus on the discussion of  timely topics of interest in a socializing “Relax-with-Good-Friends” setting.  Members  would meet once a month in  participants’ homes to discuss currents events, political issues and general topics of interest on the local, state, national and international levels. These “salons” would be in the late afternoon or early evening with limited wine/beverage refreshments and simple appetizer/finger foods and with hosting locations shared among the salon participants.
The intellectual stimulation and camaraderie the participants would enjoy are important components in supporting a fulfilling life in our McLean community. Discussion can just flow naturally in our initial gathering and then participants can cooperatively suggest ideas/themes for discussion for the next month’s gathering, as well as convenient days and times. Coalescing as our group will be, around stimulating and thought provoking shared items of interest,  we look forward to some enlightening experiences and, hopefully, some solid friendships developing as we continue in our quest to be life-long learners.
Our world and our National Capital area community are ever-changing and our hope is that  ordinary citizens sharing views, discussing opinions and being open for learning at every turn can generate greater tolerance for equitable discourse of all kinds.
Our first salon will be Saturday, June 10th at 5:00 p.m.  Please email Ellie at dasenbrook@gmail.com,  if you are interested in participating and for location information. We will look forward to your thoughts and suggestions!
